The Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge that connects Manhattan to Brooklyn over the East River. It was built in 1883, making it one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Spanning 1595.5 ft, it was also the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1903, and is one of New York's most iconic landmarks. The bridge has six lanes for automobile traffic, as well as a pedestrian walkway.
